Hello,

OK, so I've got quite a big tank (I think anyway) at 145 ltrs 92"x14"x18", and it's been cycling for about 3 weeks. I know I can't put anything (other than the 2 little fantail goldfish I've got in it now - purely for cycling) in it until it's cycled, but I'm now a little stuck and I'm hoping you all can help.

When it's cycled, and I've got a load more plants in there (there's already a few, hairgrass, Val corkscrew, Java Moss on the Logs etc but it's not heavily planted) I don't really know what fish to go for.

This is what I want to stock it with, but can I fit more in and keep them healthy?

10 x Zebra Danio
? x Leopard Danio
2-4 x Kuhli Loach
10 x Glass Shrimp
3 x snails
1 x Red Devil
2 x Green Sword tails.
2 x Crayfish (I'm worried about the Kuhli's. Will they be OK together?)

And yes, I've got plenty of hiding places made up from the rocks (slate and granite) on the substrate.

I've also heard loads about "you need fish in the top, middle and bottom dwellers" but don't know the natural place of the danio's.

With regards to the Plants, I'm feeding them, and they seem to be going great, but for a bit of colour, what would you recommend?

I really appreciate your help!

J

The red devil and crays will most likely dine on the other fish....

Also you are aware you won't be able to add all these fish at once?

as well as keeping fish, i like to fish too and i've had crayfish attached to 27lb pike so if they attack a fish of this size theres not much chance of them leaving your little fish alone, the signal crays we have around here and eat and kill just about everything !

Yeah, I know I can't add them all at the same time, a couple of weeks between them so the bacteria in the filter can catch up with the increased load.

No worries on the Cray and Red Devil - not really that gutted - but the rest, would they be cool??

Really appreciate the help guys!

the rest should be fine, although ideally you would need a trio of green swordtails, 1 male 2 female, if they are sold in pairs just see if you can have the additional female as well, with just the one female the male will stress her out :good:

i think you right jimmy, using the forum calculator i get the same thing
I wondered why you were so keen on getting so many danios? I personally wouldnt bother, except they are a good beginners fish. They are on the move all the time I suppose. But I would get a few and something else besides.
