My Bolivian Ram was shipped to me on February 25 and was injured during the journey. Her right eye was clouded over and she had bruises to her body. A salt bath cleared her eye injury and she slowly improved. But she never recovered completely. Unfortunately she died on Tuesday. This morning I noticed a lesion on Mrs. Red, my Apistogramma cacatuoides triple red. The forum thought this was an infected bite and I was given a remedy to help heal the wound. Then a few minutes ago I noticed one of my dwarf red coral Platy was stuck in a whole in a piece of cholla wood. She must have been struggling for a long time. Her skin was torn in several locations and her back looked broken. I freed her from containment but she couldn’t swim. To the bottom she went looking awful and in pain. I took out the clove oil and sent her on. What a horrible week. Do you feel my pain?

What an awful experience with the platy, sorry you had to lose her.

Hopefully Mrs Red will recover 🤞

My grandmother used to say things happen in threes. Aquarium keeping has taught me they sometimes happen in twenty sevens. It just seems like there are weeks where all kinds if things go wrong, but where it turns around and goes well for months after. The bad weeks can make you feel like quitting, but they pass.

I’m so sorry about that. I really hope your appisto gets better.
I felt the same last weekend, I thought I had killed my acara with it being caught in a stupid ornament and then adding a general tonic which turned the tank bright green and saw many fish stressed and even a Cory on its back, I thought everything was going to die.

These experiences will happen in fishkeeping but it always feels awful when it does.:( But things will improve.

I dealt with TB once in one of my personal tanks, and It was the most disheartening experience ever.

I hope it's just a bad week and clearer skies is on the horizon coming your way.
