the the best lenth of time

I been wondering for some time, about how much light I sould give my fish, I balt a timer today, and would like to give them the most natraul lighting posible.

Does anyone know the natral day and night cycle of most fish, is there anywhere I could find out.

I hope you could understand ther quetion.

my lights end up being on for about 14-16hours some days which aren't on timers.

ones that are on timers are on for about 13-14hours, with a couple fo fhours of moonlight timer at either end before main lights.

planted tanks =10 to 14hrs
unplanted tanks= max 10 hrs

i used to have mine on for about 15 hoursand ended up with to much algea so have cut it down to baout ten and all seems fine
