We've been without a reliable computer for 3 years now. I've been away from the hobby for longer, so I've forgotten most of what I knew about tropicals. Well, I never was one for TROPICALS, always liked the locals, lol.
So anyway, I just bought a hex 5 gallon, cycled with media from my pond, had it going for around 2 1/2 weeks. Was doing great, wasn't too impatient for fish (ha, right).
So, we went to walmart (had to don't yell :p) and bought, 4 glow light tetras, 5 GS and 1 Molly. Sounds good right?
Well, it was all well and good til I saw a peacock eel for $3.00, tag said it would stay small and it said he'd eat FDBW and flakes!. :-(
Now I know the tags lie, I knew this- but I read all the other tanks and they were all right, even down to a smidge of salt in the whatever fish that was, tank.
So now Elvis is very soon going to need a new tank.
We didnt have a comp when we got him so I couldn't double check.
So now we have to upgrade and due to my husbands face when he saw me bring in a 5 gallon tank I don't know how mad he'll be with a 30. (small home, space is an issue.)

Son has a 20 gallon at his nanas', maybe we'll use that lol.
Surely he'd be okay in a 20?
Did figure out he was eating the FDBW's and the FDTW when we were all sleeping.

Glad I didn't buy the puffer, LOL.

Was so ashamed I had to clear my concience. :p

your gonnal need a tank twice the size of your sons at least to keep this .
this fish is gona cost you a big investement i wold take it back if i were you!!

and what do you mean by a FDBW AND FDTW?????

Freeze Dried Blood Worms and Freeze Dried Tubiflex Worms.
Wait a minute, 40 gallons?? I thought I could keep one in a 30 gallon. Awe hell, well, I slept on it and decided Hubby will have to just accept tripping around a larger tank, guess we could put it on the dresser. I was doing so well, wasn't gonna buy a large tank til we built the new kitchen. Well, he married me, guess he's stuck with all my addictions!
Of course you know this means we'll be getting two large tanks because I am setting up a large native tank and can't keep Elvis with game fish. LOL Egads.Maybe I can turn the 5 gallon into a really nice Nano, always wanted to try saltwater. Or maybe breed some ghosties in it. Crap, now I'm fully addicted again.

Thanks for your reply!
