The ideal petstore/LFS...

I plan myself to get fully into breeding fish in the near future when i get my new and bigger place, right now i only breed corys(check out my cory spawning pics i just posted in the members adquarium section!!!!) and livebarers of various kinds and are doing a project into breeding them with better imune systems, if you need any advice on breeding fish feel free to ask  .

Cool. :)

I havn't kept many live bearers so I'm not too sure as to how fast or easily they breed. From what I've read about getting guppies/swords/platies to breed is as simple as "just add water".

That true?

Guppys, swordtails, mollys and platys do breed very easily, guppys being the easiest, but you still need to provide them with good water quality, a varied nutritious diet for healthy offspring, and enough space for them not to get social tensions and turn agressive on each other- livebearers are very sociable fish and getting the right gender ratios is very important in having a successfull livebearer tank. You can read more about them in the pinned articles in the livebearer section :)

Of the four which is the most nutritious? A horrible question, I know, but a legitimate one since I am looking to start a breeding colony to use as feeders.

Maybe buying $5 worth of the $.12 feeders salt dipping them and using them to establish a breeding colony would be best?

As far as i know, they all pretty much the same, but guppys breed the fastest and their fry take the shortest amount of time to mature so most people use them- some people breed goldfish as feeder fish but they are not very good for predatory fish due to their higher fat content which tropical fish find harder to digest.

Okay, so this is what I've planned so far. Lots of work to go, but it's a good start :)

I plan to fill is parts of the SA tank stocking grid and asian grids tonight. I'll repost when I have a good amount done.
