Hey All,
I've finally gotten ready to breed my two bettas(
). I have had the girl I wanted to breed, but I was too unsure about her potential mate and, of course, I was trying to collect all the information I could being as this will be my first attempt at breeding.
So meet the happy couple: Allie and Exxon. Allie is a copper delta with HM bloodlines while Exxon is a marble Ct with also some HM and possibly plakat in her bloodlines. I am hoping for copper marbles, but I'm just excited for anything really!
This is their home as of now: a 5 gal minibow. I have split it 3ways: Exxon has 2/3 the tank and Allie is in the 1/3. I wanted to introduce them and let them co-exist in the same tank without being able to clearly see each other (I used white plastic craft canvas to split it). Next week I will clean out their tank one last time and set the tank up fully for breeding.
Couple shots of a preliminary bubblenest:
Shot of the Happy Future Daddy:
Shot of the very excited Mommy:
Shot of the to-be honeymoon suite!:
So what do you think? I'm so excited!
I've done SO MUCH research, I feel like I could regurgitate the entire thing and write the entire encyclopedia on betta breeding!
Any tips or constructive criticism would help!
