I don't think i've seen a member besides me ever mention this guy before....

Is there some negative corrilation with him and the members? I mean, in my tank he's an awesome, no agressive, very colourful and attractive, characteristic fish. He bothers none and pleases all.

He has great fin colors and body color...

But i don't even know what kind of fish he is, let alone why no one talks about them.

Are they rare? are they common? Why are they never spoken of?

Mainly because they are usualy mis-identified though they are, in fact, commonly sold alongside 'siamese algae eaters' and 'true' flying foxes. While Garra cambodgiensis / taeniata is the fish that should go under the name 'false flying fox' it is common for several other species to share that title and even yours could very easily have been mistaken for a fish that it is not. On top of this, that is not their only common name and, personaly, I think common names are downright confusing and should be replaced with the scientific ones whenever possible :)

BTW, you desperately need a bigger tank :p

I know. 40 gallon coming in two weeks. I plan to immediatly clone the tank, and the pleco will be a trade in or a give away.
