Ooh - I think you have the same filter system that I've got. I assumed I couldn't switch to sand because I thought it would all be sucked up as the filter pulls water in from the bottom of the tank (and I really didn't want to put some old tights over the end!). I'm also not sure about how to clean it (gravel cleaner will surely suck it up?? ) How are you getting on with it??
