The Deadliest Aquatic Animals

Great posts. I STILL learn TONS from CFC...great info. SH

Here is another one, the irukandji jellyfish. It's found predominantly around Australia's barrier reef. It's not much bigger than a few centimeters, but, if stung by it, causes incredible intolerable pain and can lead to death. People can be left with permanent pain sensations. SH

To go with the e cat, theres the dwarf e cat, which is potentially more dangerous as it seems to get bigger than the 'normal' one in captivity. Then theres all the marine nasties, zoos, anenomies, poisonous fish, fish with living flick knives... FW puffers would be pretty deadly if you managed to eat one...

I agree, very interesting stuff. I knew there were catfish that got big, but not that big.
Yes,very interesting. There is another dangerous freshwater fish. It is a parasitical (dunno if thats a word)fish that swims in to fishs gills. Howver, it has been known to swim up males genitilia whane htey are in the water. It lays its eggs and the young feed off your insides. Anyhow don't mean to give you nightmares but its pretty interesting how much damage a fish can do. I can't remember its name will post later.
tHANKS

And that would be the candiru :p Specifically Vandellia cirrhosa, I beleive. Quite cute.

There's a LPS near me that is selling an electric eel. They have him/her crammed into a 15 or 20 gallon tank. The tank is on a low shelf--perfect reach for a small child. I have since stopped giving the business my patronage. One reason is that I usually have "Pet Zoo Tours" with my 3 year-old daughter. The first time that I noticed it was there was when I turned to tell her that we were leaving, and I saw her pointing and standing next to the tank. There was not even something on the tank's hood to keep it securely closed.

well my dad being a fisherman  :S  :grr: says"what about pike" known to eat ducks, small dogs
I say what about common algae eater, i got a nasty sting off one of them
