48 inch Current USA SunDial T5 HO 4x54W w/ Timers & LED

It has rear mounted fans, so heat will escape from a standard canopy set-up. It also comes with blue LED moonlights/ So, if you have plants and need more lighting, but you don't want to cut holes in your canopy, this may be an answer for you. The mounting legs look a little flimsy...that is my only concern.

That looks huge to go under a canopy! The arcadia look much better. ^^^^^^^^^^^

Really, well, I am open. Can you be more specific...?

Why buy a luminaire at all to go under a canopy? Get a ballast or 2 and retrofit the tubes into your existing canopy, will save you money and fit much better.

^^^^^^^^

I have a Sedona canopy, which has two plastic inserts inthe top, which fold for feeding. I'd only be able to mount the retrofit to the sides, and, to me, the convenience of just getting a light that has all I want, and will work, is more important than saving money. I wish I could have the best of both worlds

Wow, that is a slick, sleek nicely sized light.

The Arcadia units are a bit overpriced to be honest. I have a Bio-Pur luminaire that I purchased from EQJ-Trading in germany and it is very similar looking to the Arcadia untis, but was about a third of the price.

As to your 'canopy' sounds similat to the juwel flappy type ones. I'd just take the top of it off (or the canopy if it is removable) and just put whatever luminaire you want on top of your aquarium. If evaporation/kids/cats are a problem just fit a condensation cover.

if you want a new luminaire then go to EQJ trading on ebay, if your looking for a used one get an arcadia luminaire second hand, you cant beat the quality of arcadia.

Bad news about the Sundial. It won't fit under my canopy. I don't know if the Arcadia is to go under canopies, but it looked good. Is it available in the states, and is it really OK to used it under a canopy?
