Is annoying me.
How dare they advertise their bettas in glasses that size?! What message does that send to the uneducated betta bidder?
I want to send a message but it won't make any difference.

do it, i did lol, notice the lack of bids b/c of this reason

maybe the glass is that size so they can take a better photograph of the actual fish

I did think of that before I posted, however, I doubt they give 2 hoots, they are using a rubbish camera anyway and even their basic descriptions are lame... I'm tempted to bid on one to see how they turn up, what condition they are in etc.... like an underground operation haha

why did you bring this up again? theres been like 20 of these topics in the last 2 weeks. if you dont like them then just keep it to yourselfs, its the sellers choice if he wants to keep them in that or not. not yours. im not trying to flame or be meen i just hate it when people dont mind there own buisness and whine about bettas bieng in small cups for pictures.

bid on mine! haha cant cancel the bid now! i dont mind having him, its just he will be for breeding and ive been advised to steer away from him as he is apparently too old

coppied this from my other post.

you dont realize that sellers on ebay and aqua-bid are just middle men. they get the bettas from a distributer or a shipper and then sell them to you. the seller isnt raising them or taking care of them. they are in the hands of the seller for about 5 days and thats it. i worked with one for a wile. its not as bad as you guys think it is.

That's like saying don't ask about heating again, or filtration again, or what tail is this again or, or, or... it's a bettas life - it's a forum about bettas... if you don't like this topic, then don't read it and mind your own business and keep your own opinion to yourself. And this is UK seller, it's VERY rare to see bettas sold like this in the UK - you may well be used to seeing it all over in the states, but those pics are the 1st time I personally have ever seen bettas in cups and I was horrified. This was my reaction.

Not flaming or being mean of course ;)

lol you dont think a betta could survive in those cups? i have seen bettas survive 2+ years in those cups, you can not evey think about comparing them to heaters or filters as they arnt needed for the survival of the fish. and btw those cups are changed every 3 days :good:

Misunderstood me, just was saying that discussing all aspects of a bettas life, whether its heaters, filters, how they are sold, how they breed etc. will be repeated time and time again on a forum dedicated to bettas. I guess I was the unlucky one who posted for the 21st time in 2 weeks huh :D

mermaidmel has a point, a BIG point, uk ebay betta sellers are 99% of the time breeders, this is why they fetch a high price when they are listed, people have clocked on to the idea that HM,CT,DT, are hard to find in LFS in some regions of the uk and most uk breeder websites either dont reply to your emails or they have a selected few that always seen to get first refusal on their bettas,

what is the link to the seller i wanna see

This is one of their listings

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/male-crowntail-betta...1QQcmdZViewItem

But if you look in sellers other items there's tonnes more

Might just be the glass magnifying the size of the fish inside, but the fish looks longer than the width of the glass to me and if I had to squeeze into a blanket box and live there for 5 days I'd be pretty pissed, even if they did shovel up my poop every day

BTW Thanks Daz :good:
