Hi,

I am getting an external filter at the weekend to run along side the juwel internal filter and my local shop recommended the tetratec 700.

I have been reading about them on here and nobody seems to have a problem with them, but I just wanted to make sure they would fit the tank ok as I have never used an external filter before.

I want to keep the Juwel filter as I like the thought of having a backup if something goes wrong. I know you have the spray bar along the back so need to know if this will fit in with the juwel filter box.

Thanks in advance for any comments. :)

The tetratec will have pipes that will fit over the edge of the tank. It comes with 2 sets of clips that attach to the suckers - one set is longer than the other incase you have a brace around the top. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't fit, only thing would be how the pipes would fit with the tank lid.

Also, you can get the ex700 for around £50 online inc delivery, so make sure you dont pay much more than that if you get it from the shop!

Thanks for your reply,

I was just worried the filter box would get in the way of the pipes at the back.

I will make sure it is about £50 in the shop or buy it online, thanks for that. :)

The pipes you can place anywhere in the tank. The spraybar comes in 2 halves so if it doesnt fit using all of it, just use half :)

My tank is 180 litres,

The shop near me doesn't sell eheims anymore only tetratecs which they said are as good but the media is alot cheaper.

I will have a look at some websites to see the filter you suggested.

Thanks alot.

hi i purchased the teratec ex700 for my jewel rio 180 and its brilliant
easiest filter to stop change use and its really quiet hope that helps

Hi,

Thanks for your reply,

Just wondering do you use it with the juwel filter?

If youve got a juwel filter in there then running it at the same time as the tetra tec would be good. Over filtering is good :good:
Ever had a look at fluval external filters. Alot of places sell them alot cheaper than tetra tecs. Just my suggestion.

Thanks,

I will have a look at them too.

I didn't realise there would be so much choice.
