After using one of these for four months, I feel comfortable reviewing it.
The Tetratec EX600 is an external canister filter, rated for 600 l/h with no media and brand new pipes. It contains three media trays of respectable size. The pump housing is the same as the EX700 and EX400, making interchanging them possible for any reasons.
The filter is simple to use and operated much like the Tetra EX700.
Advantages: Compact and efficient, quiet, maintains a good flow rate until chock-full of silt. 10's of X the media space of an internal.
Disadvantages: Will require extra room, pipes clog up with silt and bacterial colonies fast. Especially prone to algae in strong sunlight.
I have not experienced the same rattling with this filter that I experienced on my EX700 (which is still running)
