Hi,

Yesterday i finally got round to getting my tank wet.

I half filled my tank, put my bog wood in then my sand then filled the rest of the tank up.

I then fitted my Tetratec EX1200 filter, and attached the intake on the right and the outlet/spray bar on the left.

I have a few questions.

1. Should i have the spray bar above or below water level?

2. Which direction should i have the holes facing (upwards to water level or across?)

Also will this be enough water movement in a Rio 180 (180 Litres)

Any help would be great

Thanks

I have mine just level with the water to provide a nice ripple from left to right I think they are excellent filters.

Will be fine for your 180

its up to you really, and depends on wether the fish you have like a strong current, if you have an airstone in there u can have it below the water level if not i would have the holes facing towards the surface
thats a plenty big enough filter for that tank more than enough movement :)

I have an ex1200, they're decent filters and adequate for a 180. I had mine running on a rio 125 for awhile and it was fine.

Whack some rowaphos in to prevent future algae problems. =)
