Tetras Stealing Oto's Food

Put a "blanched"* piece of zucchini in the tank for the otos today. Immediately the Green Fire tetras and a few ember tetras started chowing down. Green Fire tetra do a lot of nipping on algae and whatever on plants. I love those fish- they are my absolute favorite. The ones pictured still haven't developed full color or the white tips on their fins. Once they do, they are spectacular.

How have I not heard about green fire tetras until now?? These are going at the top of the list of potential fish for my next tank because holy cow they are beautiful

Well, you do know that fish that are faster swimmers will steal food away from others?
