Tetra Whisper Micro Filter?

Hey everyone, 
 
I just bought the Tetra Complete LED Aquarium 5 and it came with the Whisper Micro Filter. I just had a couple questions:
 
1. Is this safe for shrimp? 
2. If it is not safe can I modify it to make it so? 
3. Any tips/tricks on using it?

It should be safe for shrimp. If the intake is too strong, you can always adhere a piece of mesh over the intake so that particles and water can go in but shrimpies may not. However, I have not personally used this filter. It is likely fine if you intend to only house shrimp in it.

Haven't used one of these, however you could put a stocking over the inlet to prevent shrimps and mainly shrimplets being accidentally sucked into the filter.
