Hi i am considering purchasing this filter, could i please have your views and experiences about this filter. Any contributions are much appreciated . also where did you purchase your filter as im looking for the best deal on it .

Many thanks

I don't run that model, but the EX1200's and EX600's are great little filters IMO. It was however cheaper to buy two EX1200's, giving the same output and media volume, than it was a single EX2400 last time I looked however, and you get some redundancy with two filters...

All the best
Rabbut

As above i would get two ex1200's, and get them from zooplus, there doing 10% off for new customers at the minute.

never had a problem with any of the filters, but they have gold star customer services rep.. im after that filter too :) if you find the cheapest pass it on wont you .. 149 was the best i could find.. but cant remember where as i wasnt looking at the time, just nosing

thats helpfull, how would u position 2?

I was having a read around on the ex2400 as I was considering one, according to alot of reviews, yes its a good filter, however, its very noisy, unlike the other TT's, due to the size of the motor I guess to run such a large filter. So I would do as Rabbut suggested and run two ex1200 which are silent.

so would you ltertally set up them up side by side.. 2 intakes over there and 2 intakes this side ? u know what i mean

One in either end shelagh, one on the left hand side, intake/outtake side by side, one of the right hand side intake/outtake side by side. I dont have hoses going all across the back of my tanks with externals anyway, the intake strainer is low in the tank, the outtake spraybar high up, so its not like its immediately taking back in the water its just cleaned.

funny that you should all mention running two ex1200's. This is what i was running on my rio 400 until one of them sprung a leak. Consequently parents forced me to get rid of both filters. I have now however convinced them that my fish need an external filter but i am only allowed one unit as my parents believe that having two units is creating more of a leak risk (which is a fair point). i therefore need something reasonably powerful since i am planning on just having 1 external and one small internal filter. i have been relitively pleased with tetratec , despite the leakage and find their filters incredibly easy to use and efficient . however i have no experience of other externals. what i am after is something reasonably powerful (but probably not to the extent of the fx5) which will give adequate filtration to my tank and most importantly not leak lol. , PS my tank is stocked with 2 x 5" oscar 3 clown loach , 1 large plec 1 small plec , . What do you think i should purchase ? any opinions much apprfeciated .
