yes its a high protien food and if you do decide to use it then remember that they make a discus varrient witch i suspect has a higher protien content although i am not certain i will post the contents list and other values tommorow if i remeber what fish do you plan to feed it to?

lots of small tetra, some danio, gourami's, ram cichlids, guppys, a loach,

I swear by tetra prima, its a great quality food, my fish thrive on it and I grind it down for my fry also. I used to use aquarian flake food but found their flake food contained more and more snail eggs as time went buy (talking years) so swapped to the prima. My frogs eat it, shrimp eat it, plecs eat it and fish go mad over it.

the protien content for the discus version is 47.5% oil 6.5% fibre 2% ash 10% moisture 6% and added vitamis

im just confused as to why there is ash in it and not a higher vegetable content

probably because tetra's R&D department has determines that this is the ideal mix?.... all that protein could be veg you know....

All food will list ash as nutrient content but not an ingredient. Nobody is putting ash in fish food that I know of. What they are saying is that if you took a sample and did a controlled burn of the sample, when nothing would burn off any more, there would be ash left over that would weigh about 10% of the amount your sample weighed. That is 10% ash. It is mostly the mineral content of the food. It will contain things like calcium and similar items.
