Some time ago, I went into my lfs and picked up a bottle of this stuff. 'Does it actually work?' I said to the bloke. He replied 'Well, it's Tetra so it should be good'. Hmm. I was never convinced enough to implement it wholesale and just chucked some in every now and then - usually in conjunction with a water change. :/

I was wondering if anyone has used this or a similar product with any success?

Cheers,
Luke.

If you want some more info, there are quite a few threads that cover this product if you do a search for "Tetra Easy Balance" ;)

Here is a recent thread: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=84327&hl=

Near the end a member did a small-scale experiment with some guppy tanks, and the pure Easy Balance Tank did not produce any fry at all. To me, if common livebearers are not producing fry, that is highly indicative something is not right.

Plus, I stick by my comments that this product does not remove to low levels of toxins that are in our air and water. Stuff like paint fumes, and cigarette smoke, and carpet fumes, and cleaner fumes, and so on. We just have to open a window, but if this stuff gets in the tank it will be at small levels, but long-term exposure even to low levels can cause chronic problems. Partial water changes on a regular schedule help reduce these levels.
