Tetra Died During Medication

So I currently have two Pink Jewel Tetras in QT and i'm treating them with epsom salt and Mardel Myacin (or whatever its called) for popeye. I've been dosing normally and I have been changing the water everyday to avoid ammonia buildup...but today after water change one tetra was dead! It wasn't popeye, his eyes had even begone to go down a little...any ideas on what it could have been? The other one is still holding on for now....

I don't know a lot about the correct treatment for popeye but if the water changes were big I suppose it could have been stress? That coupled with the stress of being ill and having to be medicated could have done it. Sorry for your loss.

Well, I didn't do super massive water changes, its only a 2.5 gallon tank...I just needed to get the ammonia down...
