I have never gotten my ammonia r nitrate below where they are I think thats just my city water having its effect. So it looks like the double filter plan is gonna work :D. I think I am going to just keep both in this tank and get a new one for the 29 gallon when I set it back up.

Would like to thank people for the help answering my questions over the last few weeks will try and get up a couple pics in the next week.

Bacteria in the filter should process the ammonia and nitrite, if your filter isnt cycled correctly, your water will be toxic. Adding another filter does not reduce these figures, the bacteria will simply be shared betweek the two filters.

Yes, this is correct, a second filter just provides more surface area for -potential- bacterial colonies. If it is a different design it can also turn out sometimes that it does a better job of attracting those colonies. The colonies will divide fairly evenly across multiple filters but it should be noted that this can take a very long time (a year in some cases I believe) or can be fairly quick in some cases. Even if you have excess toxin in a local water supply, a good mature biofilter should reduce ammonia and nitrite to zero giving a bit of time after a water change.

Yeah I have read a lot on here about cycleing. The double filter plan is that I am useing My 29 galllons cycled filter along with the 55 gallons filter so I am running both till the new one is cycled. may just keep em both in there any way and buy a new one for the 29 gallon when I set it back up.
