api test kits seem pretty reliable from my experience.

What test kit are you currently using? Just I noticed you said you'd tested your tank and now you're asking about test kits.

Currently I am just take sample water in to petsmart and they test it for free

I use the API master test kit as well, seen a lot of people on here recommend it. You'll want a liquid test kit, the dip strips are worthless. Tried a few of the dip strips against my liquid API tests out of sheer curiosity and they were way off.

Ahhh right, that makes sense. Got to be careful though, make sure they give you the readings as often fish shops say they're fine when they're not.
