Terry fox

Not sure if any of you non canadian folks are familiar with terry fox but heres some pics of the memorial for him about 10 minutes from where I live.

In 1980 he started to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research.
He himself had cancer and thats what inspired him to run.
he died 5 months later just short of making it to Thunder bay, Ontario, Canada.
Theres a memorial for him just outside the city of thunder bay, the point he had made it too on his marathon for cancer reasearch.

Nice pics. I live right around where Terry Fox grew up. I remember years of Terry Fox runs at school. I still get goosebumps when I think of what that man did for cancer research. Thanks for sharing.

Nice memorial! There are Terry Fox drives in almost every major city I know of in Canada. I'm sure every Canadian knows who he is, but I've often wondered if anyone else does. Any non-Canadians that have heard of Terry Fox?

Never heard of him, but glad I have now. Amazing spirit to keep going when he was ill.

Great pics Superjam. He is truly one of Canada's great hero's. I've never personally been to his memorial but i'd love to see it one day.

I've lived by this memorial for over 20 years.
Not once have a taken a pic, until these.
I must of drivin by it 1000's of times and never thought to take a pic for myself.
Glad I did.
