I went to my local pet retailer on Saturday to get some leopard danios and a couple of minnows to add to my tank. As I was browsing around I found a Juwel Rio 300 for sale. It was ex-display but has never had water in it (dry display with some crappy coloured gravel and ornaments). I was shocked to see the price.

For the tank (300litre) and stand they wanted £250!

I'm now seriously trying to work out if I can afford it and if I have space! Its just so cheap! The only problem I can forsee (other than where the heck do I put it!?) is that the tubes may need replacing at some point soon (they are on all day every day whilst its been on display).

Do you think this is too good a deal to pass up? The tank looks to be almost mint... They also had a caymen 80 with stand which was a tank with some fish in it for some time and is a little scummy, this is going for £150...

What should I do? Sell some limbs?? :shout:

Where did you say the Rio 300 was. I`ll pop round with my wallet and have a look. :shifty:

Sounds like a good deal to me.

Oh well. I went back and it turns out they'd decided they'd labelled it up incorrectly and that it should of been £300. Way out of my budget.

I hear a kidney goes for about the same. If you really loved your fish you would

Mmm, not sure. I should imagine a colostomy bag can be a real passion killer. ''No, not tonight, love''. Squelch, squelch.

Nice :D

Well, I actually went back in the end, turns out that they had 2 of them. One was an ex display which had had fish in it, the other (the one I saw) was a dry display. They'd sold the wet display one for £250, and apparently the dry display one was £300 even though the price on it was £250.

I figured they can stuff it, if they were going to change their minds on the price.
