Tap Water To Ro

I have a tropical freshwater tank. I use de-chlorinated tap water and round by me,the pH is around 8. This limits certain fish that i can buy ie plecos
I work at my LFS and would recieve RO water for free and was wondering if i switched,would the fish be to stressed for the pH to drop from 8 to 7?

Do it slowly and pre-mix the RO and tap together before adding them to the tank to reduce any effects of the difference in water chemistry. Usually it's not worth messing with the water like that unless you do keep sensitive fish or notice your existing fish are struggling with the existing water.
