Having well water normally is a good thing, but it also means that it is quite possible for your tap water to contain ammonia. Any water company would deem your water unsafe to drink. Anyone with well water is recommend to have it tested every year. In my house this is required by law, cuz my mom runs a daycare in the lower level of our house. I don't know where you live, but we get our sample kit from our courthouse, this might be something you want to look into. They seem to be very accurate and they can test for bacteria. You take a sample of your tap and it is sent 1st class mail to the laboratory were they test it. From our water storage tank iron measures 0.071 mg/L after it goes through the water softener it measures <0.005 mg/L :hey: .
