Tankmates.

Helllloooo.
 
I have a 300 liter 5ft tank with 3 x geophagus tapajos, 3 x keyholes, 1 x western rainbow (my only remaining starter fish from 4 years ago) a rusty plec and a clown plec. I would like to add a few more to the collection but not sure what. I was hoping i could get ideas.  i want to try keep it South American and even cichlids but i want something that would swim in the middle to top of the tank..

is that the only option or is there other others.

Festivums possibly, in my experience there just aren't a lot of cichlids that hang out on the top levels of the aquarium a lot, mine always like to stick around on the middle and bottom levels unless they think they're getting food
