Hey so I think I want to get more plants but I'm going to need aqua soil and I'm think some trident fern maybe some moss and Anubis what do you think

I'll post a picture tomorrow

You don't need special soil for aquarium plants. They grow perfectly well in sand or gravel. Just have good light and add a bit of iron based aquarium plant fertiliser.

I like the soil but plenty of people get on with sand just as well. Worth mentioning though that all those plants you mentioned doing need substrate and actually need to be tied onto wood or rocks.

Like @Wills said the plants you mention do not need soil here is a picture of some anubias and ferns I attached to a stump.

Most aquarium plants only use their roots for anchoring and get there nutrients through their leaves. They also rarely need any ferts if the light and water conditions are correct.

Ok my waters are acidic I'm on pea gravel which is the worst thing to grow plants on I was thinking of making a little trench next to the plants and putting soil in those trenches and then layering it with some pea gravel

you would be better off using small plastic continers to put the soil in and cover that with gravel. The plants can grow into the soil and the nutrients will be less likely to leach into the tank.

If you get trident java fern and anubias, as has already been said, these should not be planted in the substrate but fastened to decor. Moss isn't grown in the substrate either.

If you have other plants which grow in the substrate, it depends on what they are. Slow growing plants just need sand or gravel and if they are root feeders, root tabs placed next to them.
