Im still planning my big tank all 900L of it, I have a couple of question which i could use some advice .

1. Im thinking of turning the tankover at 4500ltp (5x) does that sound about right

2. Having 2 1.5" return pipes to sump and 2 3/4 pipes returning from 2 pumps.

3. having 12 gallon of bio-balls.

4. any ideas as to what size of heaters for this much water.

Well i think thats about it for now, but if anyone has done a 200 gallon cichlid tank any advice would be more than welcome.

Thanks.

1. yes that's fine.

2. not too sure

3. depends where they are positioned

4. aim for about 700w of heating I think.

One comment why not use a trickle tower?

Thanks for that. Im changing the returns to 2 2" and i was thinking 4 200w heaters that way if 1 fails no problem and if 1 sticks no problem , I forgot to say its a trickle tower looks a bit like this , I have designed it and planning on building it myself.

Look ok to you lot ? Its rated at 300g

Seems ok, what are the dimensions of it and how much of it will be out of the water? Also what sort of weir are you using?
