Tank States

hi folks im still having issues with my tank its been running now 6 months i doing a 40ltr water change ever 7 days my tank is 180 ltrs but i carnt get the states right im at 0.50 amonnia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate what can i do

What is your stocking list? Is there any un eaten food lying around? Test your nitrate again as it shouldn't be at 0 unless you are using r/o water (i think that has none in) even tap water has nitrates and it will only go up in a tank. What type of kit you using e.g liquid or strips and what make.

Is the tank stocked with fish or are you doing a fishless cycle with ammonia?
What kind of test kit are you using? Strips or drops?

I suspect your test kit is a bit dodgy. Nitrate tests are particularly unreliable. If it is a liquid kit, shake it really, really hard and whack it on a table a few times, then shake it again, then do the test. The chemicals in it can settle and give innaccurate results.

Also make sure you are reading the ammonia one in natural light.

Post a piture of the results against the results chart if you can.
