Tank Size Advice?!?!

hi, as a few people know on here i have been after buying a tank around 8 foot by 3 foot wide as i am planning a pair of rays and an asian arowana in the near future.
i have today been offered a tank of 50 long x32 wide x 18 inch's high,
the guy did have a pair of rays in it and obviously outgrew the tank and he has upgraded, he said he kept the rays in the tank for 2 years, i havent seen the tank but should be ok, condition wise.
i dont personally think it would be ok to hold 2 rays in a tank this size but on the other hand i have no first hand experience with the fish as of yet so your opinions on the matter would be greatly appreciated!
also, arowana, i know the asian aro's get to around 6 - 8 inch in depth, as in dorsal to pectoral. this 18 inch deep tank doesn't seem deep enough for this and rays on the bottom.
the more i think about it the more problems i think of. i can get the tank for about £100 or maybe less so just thought id put it through some people that know more about the subject than me first!

Cheap, for sure - but a bargain is only a bargain if it does what you want it for.

See what the ray/aro keepers think, my thoughts would be it could be a nice grow out for young rays but not suitable for life or the aro.

There is an 8x2x2 on ebay but that is probably not wide enough for Rays.

Hello dave,it will be ok as a grow out,but long term id suggest bigger,i wouldnt keep a ray in my 5/2/2 as ive seen some big one's in the lfs and they seem cramped in a 5/2/2 which was the tank they were in, think people keeping ray's usually have for example 7/3 or 3ft by 2ft high as the disc shape gets big....but never kept ray's...maybe someone else may chime in, thats a great price mind mate
