Hi,

I've been having the talk over here

But I've been looking at plants, and this is a list I came up with:

- Eleocharis Xingua
- Java Moss
- Crypt Lingua
- Dwarf Acorus

would this cover to background, foreground and mid-ground, I want a floor covring plant, did I cover that as well in this list?

I also have some larger Swords, but cant remember what they are :) which I'll be putting in the tank.

What about Ech Tenellus, would that be a viable addition?

Just out of interest what are the water requirements of that fish?

Also how much effort do you want to put into the plants? Or are they just in there to keep the fish happy and you don't really mind what they look like?

Those ones you have listed should be ok in most tanks. Carpeting plants tend to need lots of extra equipment to get them looking good, and I think this is going to be more of a fishtank with plants than planted tank with fish. You could try doing it with the java moss though.

My only doubt would be over the Eleocharis Xingua which I reckon would probably need lots of light, but again this'll depend on what you're planning to do.

The plants will be many for the fish to be honest, The tank has more than enough light, I'm at work an can't remember what it has :D but it has two Arcadia Tubes in it, a Tropical and a Freshwater lamp.

I'm not decided if I should have the plants or use fake plants.

I have a CO2 setup that I can use in this tank, in my main planted tank I dont use CO2 and the plants fluorish, more than is manageable at times :D

And yeah, I want a fish tank with plants, not a plant tank with fish.

As for water requirements, the fish isn't dependent on certain specifics.
My water is neutral and slightly hard (I think) and have been keeping linking sword and a few other swords, an a couple of anubias, also Java fern.

So I know alot of the plants will be ok, the only plant I had problems with was cobomba as it just fell apart, but I've read a lot of people have had the same problems too.
