Decided to take some pics just using my moonlight.
After a few goes i think these ones work well.

Hope you all like.

And keep the comments coming. They help to build a better tank.

VERY cool, Cossack! I love that first pic. The plants look like they're glowing.

I so want to get a moonlight for my 29, but they are just too expensive for me.

buy one of these from ebay...

Blue Cold Cathode Neons

and a multi voltage adapter from radioshack

Regulated AC-to-DC Adapter

then fit them under your hood with a few blobs of glue (or stickyback velcro)

wire the adapter to the neon at 12v and you got a moon light :)

total cost less than $25

How good am I - I'm not even american :D

I'll 2nd the TOTM for the first pic ;)

And I dont want to hijack this thread any more than I already have....

so have a look >>HERE<< for how to do it.

thats exactly what ive done.

ive got a under car (waterproof) 13 inch blue neon and 2x 7 blue led spots.

the neon i got from a car store. the 7 led spots from a pc mod store.

i have 3 timers on my setup.

1 to control the main lights. on at 7:30am off at 7:30pm
1 to control blue neon on at 7:00pm off at 9:30pm - 6:30am on to 8:00am off
1 to control 2 x 7spot leds on at 9:30pm off at 6:30am

i do this to try and simulate sunrise sunset

the blue neon is running of a 12v converter
the leds are running of a 12v convertor

i have both the neon and the leds because yes the neon is a little bright and some fish still keep going as if the sun is up. whith the blue leds only the night fish are about

a moonlight is really just a low output blue light.
fish arnt't supposed to react to it. (mine still seem pretty active)

yeah.
best thing is it still lets you view the fish when all the lights are off. total different behavior
