Tank Not Looking Good Since Filter Broke

The fuse went on my filter and I didn't notice for a few days. It's all fixed now but today I noticed my tank doesn't look as good as it did. Lots of bits floating in the water and on my fake plants like fluffy hairy stuff. It looks horrible.

What do you think this stuff is on the plants. It's not green. It's like fluffy hairy light brown stuff on things. Do you think this is because of the filter? Will a good scrub be the end of it?

There are some kinds of algae that grow where there is low or poor water flow, so I expect it's that.

Here's a pic not the best but you can see it.

That was cleaned on monday and monday was when I noticed the filter and fixed it. Now look at it!!

Algae tbh. Scrub it off you'll be good to go

I would be tempted to clean the whole tank. Are you still going ahead with the gravel change? If so then do it all at once whilst the fish are out.

Yeah still doing it but not got the gravel yet. I'll do a a 50% water change again tomorrow and clean the lot

The algae will be a result of poor circulation and ammonia due to bacteria die off, just do a few large water changes and things will be fine.

Gonna do another tomorrow. I've just noticed one Cardinal Tetra is missing and can't see him anywhere and my pitbull plec seems to be missing as well! He was definitely there on monday when I did the 50% change. He may be hiding but I checked his usual spot and he's not there.

I'm am pretty annoyed right now. I'll give it a good clean tomorrow and 50% change and see if he's there. The cardinal defo isn't

Found the pitbull plec after I switched the lights off he came out. When I clean tomorrow I'll look for that cardinal. He might be stuck behind the filter or something.
