Please could you recommend a gravel cleaner- and a pump syphon.

Are these a good idea do the fish get sucked up? Im hoping to have guppies and platys with their fry in tank.

There are loads available in your lfs and they all work on the same principle so you can't really get a 'bad' one.
One thing i would suggest is that you opt for onw which has not got a round cylinder on it. An angled or oval shaped one lets yo get into the corners easier and in between your decor and plants.
If you are carefull you wont suck up any fish or fry, they soon get out of the way.

I have done the water change today and two of my Mollies (small) got sucked up! They are curious. Just release the syphon and they just fall out unharmed.

Better than sliced bread or striped suspenders. No buckets, no spills. Once syphon is started, you may shot the tap off and the syphon will continue cause that's what syphons do!
