hi all, i have just finished setting up my 4 foot tank, when the lights on it seems to be a yellow colour instead of being a bright white, can you get different typs of tubes as i would like to make it bright white instead of the yellow effect?
its a 42 inch tube if that makes any difference?

yes, lights have a kelvin rating which refers to the colour, generally they go from a yellowy colour through white to a blue. go to any decent lfs and they should be able to supply you with a whiter bulb.

thanks again Miss Wiggles :good:

get a light with a Kelvin (K) rating of between 6500K and 10,000K. Preferably 10,000K. They are usually sold for marine tanks but work great on freshwater as well.
