Hi all,

Been a while since i've been on here!

Just considering a re-doing my tank, and for some reason thought about how much longer it will go on for!!

What is the life expectancy of a tank (mine is a rio 180 - but the question is a general one) before you have to worry about those seals dumping the contents onto the floor?

Cheers.

It somewhat depends upon the tank construction (how well it was made, and how it is made), and how it has been treated (moved about, left alone).  My largest tanks are now 20 years old (I bought them new).

Rarely moved and treated well, so I think i may be in good shape.     ....unless anyone has had a rio180 nightmare!

All of my tanks were at least 15 years old, I've no idea how old, bought all of them used. I wouldn't be losing sleep over the issue.
