Tank Deco

Nice clean tank! But I do think you may have some incompatible choices of fish in there...just my opinion but I don't think peaceful gouramis and aggressive tiger barbs are too good together. Tiger barbs are lovely, fast swimming fish but they are known to be fin-nippers towards slower moving fish or fish with flowing fins. Their aggression worsens when they are kept in smaller numbers and it's usually recommended that they be kept in a shoal of 6+.

Also, there are probably more than enough fish in there already, to be honest, given the types of fish you have.

My suggestion (and it's only that) would be to rehome either the barbs or the gouramis.

Regards - Athena

ps - I forgot to add that some rocks or pebbles might look good in there, too.

Hi! After reading some of the stuff on tiger barbs I worried about that too. But so far they haven't been nipping the others or bothering them. They've kept everything to themselves. Only the serpaes have but they have kinda stopped. Is that okay? Can I continue keeping the dwarf gouramis in there?

I can always rehome them to the pond. There are other dwarf gouramis in there but they're so shy you hardly see them :(

I recommend making coconut caves, or I would add a piece of drift wood going from the bottom left and corner of the tank to the upper right and corner of the tank. ;)

Yep! Planning on getting that as soon as I can!

That's good. Just make sure you don't overload on decorations or else you'll end put with no water!

Im so sorry about all of these posts my computer got crapped up...

Haha! It's alright!

Yeah I don't fancy decorations much, just wanted to make the tank look slightly... more... like a tank? Don't know how to put it :S

My sis just got me 5 more neons for the lonely fella. Hope they'll make friends and stick together. May be re-homing 2 gouramis to the pond.

Just added the neons. They're swimming together!

The tigers aren't bothering them but the serpaes are! But that's expected I guess. May do something about them later.

I also added some ceramic cube I had to the tank for the mean time. Will remove it once I get other decos!
