Just today i was watching the video about the teen who was lifting weights when he crashed it into the tank and cracked it..And today I guess it was my turn to face the same. Being my stupid self I was looking at my tank and saw that it was a bit off even and decided to put something under it to make it even. Being even STUPIDER i used these plastic circle things. This is where all the problems started...The plastic circles created pressure points which caused the bottom of the tank to crack :-( .It started out small then began to crack even more cracking the entire bottom of the tank. I called my parents so they can help me gather buckets and help put all the water into a big bucket which im hoping to use for a new tank if my parents will get me one. Im still missing a fishy and looked for it all over the place but it was nowhere to be found. I feel so dumb and irresponsible for doing this. My poor clownfish looked scared so im just going to leave it alone and not try to move the rocks around until tommorow.

Sparknotes Version: My tank cracked and it sucks balls. :-(

Pick up another one from Walmart for ten bucks super quick! That sucks.

Im going to walmart today and im getting a 29-40gallon :D ...But for now the fishies and live rock and stuff are in a big tub thing. All alive! Thank God, They gave me a heart attack last night. :X

When you said it created a pressure point it made me think you must have put it directly under the tank. Is that what you did?

In the future, to level the tank place shims on the floor under the edge of the stand or the piece of furniture its sitting on. Wooden paint stir sticks, free at a lot of hardware stores, work well for this. You can cut them to size with a little saw. Keep inserting one at a time under the lowest corner/leg until the tank is level. It'll probably only take one or two, even if your house is old and crooked like mine!

Something fell over onto one of my 10 gallon tanks last week and it broke. My husband was the one who knocked something over on it and I was in the other room. I heard this crash and then a gush of water and thought he spilled something. But it kept gushing and gushing and then I knew...

Its a really terrible thing when it happens to you. One of my fish jumped out of the bucket I put them in, so I have to put in a warning to cover your bucket if you have jumpers. I don't know much about saltwater, though.

Hmph, Wal-Mart ran out of the 55gallon tanks :X  . So now I have a 29gallon which is still way better than my 10gallon. I'm still trying to figure out this whole establishing a new tank using old tank items (Gravel, water, etc.) But anyways, Yes I did put something directly underneath the tank and thats when the problems started happening :X . But now I took your advice and put the piece of wood under the stand instead of under the aquarium...Tommorow I still have to fill up my tank and buy some more instant ocean salt and possibly some more sand. :)
