I don't seem to have had any problems so far. I also use it on my ornaments, it seems to do the trick.

I just use my hand real quick when it needs it. I have a sponge for times when it needs more than my hand.

I usually don't have to worry about it because I rarely turn the aquarium lights on and when I do it's for only a couple hours or so.

I take it you don't have any real plants then?

I use amano shrimps to keep on top of my algae although i dont have a problem really. They are awesome though i have to say,i have 3 in a 130 litre tank and they just keep on munching!
The magnetic scrapers i prefer but they do struggle with tough stuff but if i clean the glass regular as it only takes seconds it keeps on top of it. :good:

Yeh they are great algae eaters althou they are no good for the glass.

Depends how long the algaes been there or how bad it is. I have a magnet algae scraper that I use mostly, but i have also used sponges, toothbrushes (for them hard to reach areas) and algae scrubbing pads. So i've used a variety of things, it's like a whole bag of tricks.

I have a window scraper with a stanley blade for removing stuborn algea and a coarse nylon pad on a long handle thing for general use.

Another one I use is a wallpaper scraper. Nice long handle, wide razor scraper, be careful around silicone.

I used to use Asda non-scratch Scourers but now use filter floss and a JBL non-scratch coarse sponge :) Unfortunatly my Otto population has dwindled so they don't keep up with the sides anymore :(

For cleaning glass if I need to - I use a sponge scraper on a stick but I wrap the sponge bit in one of my wife's old nylon stockings. Seems to make it less abrasive. My top tip for the week :good:
