Hey all.

Just finished a 90% water change (yer i know fish stress/new environment stuff, but i ws careful).
the tank ws getting grubby, and the vallis was taking over, and after my female krib died i thought it was time for a change. So, out with the fish into a warm, flooded 60 litre box and it began. Gravel ploghted, sieved and soaked, filter dismantled and the tank scrubbed. but after that was all finished i thought i would change things a little. Wheras i had a cave in the gravel covered by bogwood in the back left, i made a mountain with all the deep-rooting plants covering it. Where there was a middle-hill i made the bogwwod cane, and the filter on the right had a deep cave surrounded by a thick forrest of vallis, so as to hide both the filter and cave. Once the tank was re-filled and warmed up i floated the fish in seperate bags to acclimatise. When i came to release them, however, they all seemed really lost.
1) The gupppies and tetras used to be really up-front under the covering of vallis, but now there is open water they all went and hid in the forrest, poking out like finding nemo characters.
2) the Kribensis tried to swim down to where his cave was, but encountered a mountain. It was quite funny, in a sad way, to see him try to swim round it to get home. He has now claimed the filter corner.
3) The flying fox used to be really nervous, hiding in the sword plants near the surface. Now he really is King Of The Hill, sitting on a really colourful bright red plant.

Has anyone else made similar changes and if so have their fish reacted in the same way?

P.S. all fish are OK and i will comment if any die as a result, but i have had this tank for 3 years, so i know what im doing.

Never done a water change as large as 90% (there is a large risk of causing the tank to mini-cycle with such a large water change and tank clean out), but i often re-arrange the decor and planting in my tanks every month or so- the fish seem to enjoy having the change in habitat every now and then  .
Even if your fish look fine right now, i'd advise testing the tank water for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates just to make sure large clean out hasn't caused it to mini cycle  .

Any chance of some pics in the members aquarium section on the forum :) ? Its always nice to see new members tanks on the forum  .
