Hi

I've very new to the hobby and have had my first community tank (Hagen 68) for about 6 months. I love the Oscars that my LFS stocks and was wondering what the minimum sized tank I should be looking to get if I wanted to keep an Oscar in the future. Would a 180 litre tank be ok or would I need a 300 litre tank?

Thanks

James

Hiya James,

you need a tank minimum size of aprox 280litres (75 us gallons) which equates to a 4'x2'x2' tank

however that's the absolute minimum for 1 oscar with no other fish in, if at all possible you should go for something like 6'x2'x2'

here's a good article with some info on so you can start your research if that size tank is possible

:good:

Thanks-are there any manufacturers you could recommend for a tank of that size?

this is a large international forum, if you fill in your profile with what country/state/province/town etc that you live in then we can hopefully make some recommendations :good:
