tanin stain

dang, i just tied the moss to the wood... no boiling then, i have to remove the moss to boil the wood, out of the question, hmmm how long does the stains usually last ? a year ?!?!!?? : (

can't give ya an exact amount of time, but it will continue for months i am sure...hopefully gradually becoming less and less noticeable

I have a large piece of wood in my rummynose tank that leaks tannins into the water. The tank has been running for a year and the tannins are still visable. I personally love it! But it will hinder the performance of your lights.

RARRR!!!! out goes the wood or BOIL THE WOOD!!.. but then i think im gonna leave it in the tank and leave it alone, the tanning is good for the fish, and all for the love of my fishes :) do shrimp experience benefits from tannin staning too ?

You could alway up the water changes, lots of small changes will keep the tannins in line.
