Planning on doing a lake tang tank in my 40ish gallon tall tank. How does this stock sound? I know, I've made a lot of posts regarding fish for my tank, but none of the others worked out. Things that happened were that PH wasn't right, lfs didn't stock them, etc. These fish ALL can be found at my LFS.
I'll do my best to find the common name for all of these.

45H
2 Altolamprologus Calvus "Calvus"
4 Neolamprologus Brichardi
2 Neolamprolugs Leleupi
2 Julidochromis Ornatus "Ornate Julie"
4 Synodontis Petricola "Even-Spotted Squeaker"
2 Lamprologus Occelatus
3 Synodontis nigriventris "Upside Down Catfish"

The tank dimensions of what can be filled with water are 3'Lx22"Hx12'W. I have deep pool filter sand in it. I'll get shells for the Occel's. My PH is soft and about 7.4. Should I buy a lake tang buffer, or can I use epsom salt and baking soda?

Thanks

If you remove the brichardi then you'll have a nice tank going - two pairs of brichs will probably take over the tank. You'll even have room for a schooling fish if you want, Tangs do well with them, like serpae and congo tetra's, or danios.

I'm changing the list a little as recommended on another forum.

2 calvus/2 altolamprologus compressiceps
2 Lamprologus Occelatus (Can I do 3 or 4?)
4 Synodontis Petricola
5 serpae tetras
bnose if necessary

I ended up getting a sev for this tank, the tangs were too expensive. How many lamp occelatus could I put in a 10g, and would they be the only ones in there?

You shouldn't have more than a pair of them in a 10g - males tend to be brutal against other males and females. Personally, I think 10g is a little too small for Occelatus, but it has been done before. N Multi are more suitable in that sized tank...

You might get away with some dither fishes at the top...

How about I use my standard 20g for tangs?
The fish that I would like to go in are:

Neolamprologus mustax
Lamprologus ocellatus
Julidochromis regani "Kipili"

Could I have 2 of each of these fish?

How long is this tank?

If it is long enough, you could fill one side with rocks, and sand only (with lots of shells) on the other side with some kind of a barrier in between to divide the territory (blocks of rocks would work fine). Then you can have a mix of rock dwellers and shell dwellers in the same tank. I originally planned to do this on a 25g tank which is 2.5ft long. If your tank is 2ft long, it could be too tight, especially if your shell dweller is Ocellatus.

Sorry, I never looked into Neolamprologus mustax before...
