Right! I thought goldfish could live in ponds even when the top layers froze over?

The ice layer on the top of the water actually keeps the water fairly warm as it acts as an insulator from the cold air. As long as it isn't there long enough to cause oxygen-depletion issues, it's not a problem but an advantage in very cold weather

I think the fish highway looks cool - but like others said - how to maintain it: cleaning, get to a dead fish, etc.

Enjoyed this thread, but must agree on some of the tanks just being ridiculous. I knew someone who had one of those small aquariums that hung on the wall. It's purely my opinion but think they are a stupid, and maybe not the most ideal home for even the smallest of fish.
