So here's our little Joe after a week or so. His regrowth is SO promising! And there's no doubt he's happy.

I've definitely gotta agree with what BettaMomma said about that Walmart third party cutting open the bags. There's no way it looks like battle wounds... or all his fins would be tattered. Boo Walmart!!

That new tail is looking great!!

As to the tail getting cut while opening bags, Walmart has their bettas shipped to them in the cups you see them in on the shelves, so I don't really understand where, in the process of getting them from supplier to Walmart, they would have been in bags . That's also why the water is usually low in those cups... low water is good for shipping, and they never add more or clean the cups so they stay that way (I've been talking to employees, can you tell? )

But I just read back on something BettaMomma said about a third party getting the shipping bags from the fish and putting them in the cups. THEN they get sent to Walmart... I know they get sent there in cups, but there's no way they were transported from God knows where in them... you know??

My VT boy Han is now missing BOTH his ventrals. One day I came in and one was gone. I thought to myself..did he always have just one? So I went thru pictures and sure enough he had 2 at one time. For the life of me I can't figure how one came up missing..he has no way to catch them on anything really...plus I think I would have seen it lying on the bottom of the tank had it been ripped off. Then today after I put Dok in his stall I was looking at him and THE OTHER ONE is missing now!! I looked all over the bottom in the leaves of his plants..nothing. I can't figure out where it went. But they are just clean gone. No bits or pieces left anywhere. It's like they just dissapeared. And all his other fins are just fine..no shreds, tears, or pieces missing...just his 2 ventrals.

So, I can't figure where these 2 fins went..and/or how. So there is NO telling how these fish loose other fins like that...just one of life's little mysteries.
