T5 Luminair Problem

Hi all,

Hoping for a little help / advice.....

I have a 2x54w T5 light unit. Just recently it has developed a fault as follows:

Just the ends of the tubes light up, a dull light, then when I turn the lights off the whole tube flashes.

The T5 tubes are brand new, the fuse in the plug is new. The T5 tubes do work as I have them working on another unit for now.

I'm guessing there is a problem with the ballast?? The ballast is a HELVAR electronic ballast EL2x54s

Just want to confirm it is probably the ballast before I buy a new one.

Yeah, pretty sure it is as I can't see anything else wrong. All wires etc not loose.

Anyway, just got one off ebay for £10! Bargain. Hope thats what it is.
