T-bar/sajica

I'm going to be moving house shortly (hopefully!) and will be taking the opportunity to re-do my tank. I made the mistake of buying some Rosy Barbs which have wrecked my plants and none of the other fish really like them. A couple died, I have 2 left which I am going to take back this week. I am going to put some silk plants in for the time being as there isn't much cover in the tank now as the plants have nearly been destroyed

I am going to change the substrate when I move, as the white sand I have is hard to keep clean. Either going for black sand or some natural gravel/plant fertiliser. I want to re-do my tank so it's all planted when I move.

Anyway, cut a long story short I'm thinking of getting the above T-Bar cichlid to go with my current stock of: 1 x Blue Acara, 1 x Bolivian Ram, 1 X Gold Ram, 4 x Black Phantom Tetra, 3 X Columbian Red Fins, 1 x Keyhole, 5 x Khuli loaches, 2 x Amano shrimp and 1 x Para Pleco. What do you think? Would it get on with the other fish? Is it OK in planted tanks?

I would say no personally...No to mixing most normal sized cichlids with Rams..including Blue Acaras.

They ignore plants IME. As for whether or not it'll be alright with the rest...not too sure. Its alot of cichlids for a 190L tank. Mines kept with a Blue Acara that he squabbles with, but I've not kept him with rams or a keyhole before so I've no opinion.

The Acara is pretty docile, never bothered the Rams or the Keyhole before.

I'm not suggesting they would, though I'd expect some sort of confrontation between the Sajica and the BA. As for whether your Sajica would have (or cause) problems with the others, I don't know. I do know they are still cichlids though, so I wouldn't just assume they will get along.

Hopefully someone will be along soon to shed some light.

Looking at GrumpyGouramis Acara in another thread I can tell you he has a Green Terror so them rams etc are going to have to go...or he is!

Lol! Sorry Grumps, its not uncommon for people to get GT's mistaken for BA's (I've made the same mistake myself when wondering around an LFS) but that does change things slightly.
