Hi all, just today I managed to find out what I though was ammonia poisoning in my angelfish turned out to be Systematic (internal) Bacteria Infection. I have heard there is food to help treat this but I dont know where to find it. Does anybody know where I can get this, or if there is anything I can do to treat him?
His mouth looks a bit deformed aswell, but I am not sure whether this is to do with the same thing. Please respond.

I don't know where to get medicated food either, but have you tried a normal remedy for internal becterial infections? Myxazin is very good.

Thanks for the reply and tip, Do I need to treat him in another tank or can I just use it in his current one?

I'd use it in his current one; there's every chance that the tank and other fish are affected, even if their not showing any symptoms.

Thanks alot for your help Fluttermoth. I will order some Myxazin right away. Could this disease potentially kill the angelfish or any of his tankmates?

There's always the potential for any fish to die of a disease, but fish are remarkablely tough and resiliant; if they haven't been ill for too long, they're still eating and you get some meds started soon, there's no reason why they shouldn't recover.

Having said that, years and years ago I had a particularly nasty strain of septicaemia in one of my tanks and it killed everything, despite my best efforts over two months, so I won't lie and promise they'll pull through, but that's pretty unusual.

Well thanks for being truthful :) and sorry about your tank, I had a disease kill all my fish in my tank last year
