Has anyone got these cats? They are so friendly, i am sure my pair have been exhibiting breeding behaviour in the last few days.
Before they didnt seem bothered about each other but now they twirl around each other like mad things.
I am pretty certain they arent fighting as neither shy away and sulk in a corner afterwards.
Has anyone know them to breed in the aquarium?

I've got 3 - I've no idea if they're male or female. They're very friendly and always come to see me when I'm near the tank. Somebody forgot to tell them that they only grow to 5 and half inches. Mine are more like 6-7" and still growing  They're like human vacuum cleaners - eat loads and loads and loads of whatever goes into the tank. I don't know about staying on the bottom, mine are all over the place, top, middle, bottom and you should see them feeding time - like pigs :) The other fish have to be really quick otherwise there's none left. All in all, great fish, friendly and funny. :D

i keep them and mine is almost 8 inches! and the baby one i rehomed was 4 inches when i spoke to new owner. they have laid eggs in tanks before but dont expect them to hatch, as far as i know it has not been done.(hatching) mine is about 7 or 8 years old still very brown not grey at all! you should see them grazing the sides of your tanks also mine does that ( and the one i rehomed still does in new tank) Great catfish to own! :D :D

Humbug - go to Planet Catfish and look at the Catfish of the Month archive. There is info on Syno Eupterus there and even an account of a spawning, although eggs didn't hatch. It may be in the 1997 or 1998 section. I had one once that I ended up rehoming, he was such a COOL fish! B)

Thanks all,
